Bluebell (CMU) & Bluebell Coloured (CMUC) Herend Patterns
Campanule Coloré Pattern Herend Porcelain. The motif of the Campanule service was inspired by Campanula Carpatica, one of the many Bluebells which bloom in late springtime in meadows and near the edges of woods. In fact, the stems are much like creepers, which lends the whole pattern an Art Nouveau Air. When held up to the light, the Campanula Flowers give of Magnificent Translucent Colours, as do the painted petals.
What makes this Campanule design different is that the flowers are all the same size, no matter whether in the middle or on the edge of a plate, and cover the entire surface like wallpaper, with Bluebells portrayed from various angles. The style of the flowers and the method of painting are Characteristic of Herend, but the Composition is New, demonstrating that it is possible to create Fashionable Modern Décor rooted in Herend’s own traditions.
