About the Imola Herend fine china design
The golden section, where the smaller part is to the greater as the greater is to the whole, has fascinated scholars and artists since ancient times. Look upon these golden lines against the snow-white porcelain, and admire the golden section for what it is: divine perfection. The knapweed known as Imola in Hungarian appears in its charming simplicity in this décor.
The single flower in the centre is modest in size, its mauve petals backed by green foliage, while around the border run swirling stems, ending in purple blooms with pale-yellow centres. This restrained and modest décor is a perfect adornment to the dazzling white of the porcelain.
