The history of the Tupini – Cornucopia – TCA Herend design
The birth of Tupini – Cornucopia (TCA) Décor in 1870 was inspired by Arabian ceramics glittering in enamel colours. Borrowing just a handful of motifs from the mysterious Orient, the masters of Herend have conjured up the heated, spicy, intoxicating fairy world of the Arabian Nights.
This cornucopia, replete also with cultural associations, conveys prodigal abundance. For lovers of the spices of the East, it offers perfect accord between serving and service. Perhaps that is why it caught the eye of the Shah of Persia, who ordered it from Herend.
